In a city ravaged by a civil war, a young woman, Antigone, defies the decree of King Creon and buries her traitorous brother. For this, Antigone is sentenced to death, even though she is betrothed to Creon’s son, Haimon. After refusing Haimon’s desperate pleas for mercy, the King receives an ominous visit from the blind prophet Teiresias warning of the danger of executing Antigone. Will Creon pardon Antigone and save his family, or will he uphold the authority and supremacy of the law? A post-apocalyptic vision of a 2,500-year-old play by the Greek tragedian Sophocles.
