We are at the meeting to plan the funeral of Edna the final European Eel in existence... except she's not dead...yet. Patty is the new leader of the Anguilliformes (or true eels) taking over after her father. She has big shoes to fill...and she's doing terribly! With the clashing personalities of the other eels will this funeral be a flop? Will Edna die before it's planned? Will Patty follow her true passion of interior design?! Also who is this scientist that keeps appearing and lecturing the audience? Wacky, off-beat, warm, and of course oh so very slimy this play is one part cautionary tale on climate change and other part gill tingling comedy for our modern times.

This was a developmental reading for the local playwright, Audrey Hunter, who was in attendance. There was a talkback following the reading, moderated by director Benjamin McElroy, where the audience members and actors discussed the play with the playwright.
