Auditions for the Outcry Reads Festival

Outcry Reads is a yearly series of play readings. Outcry Theatre produces four readings of new works by local Dallas-Fort Worth playwrights. Local actors are cast, and an Outcry staff member directs the readings. The readings take place at the Outcry Theatre Rehearsal Location in Plano, Texas. The readings are free to attend, with limited seating for up to 20 audience members. A talkback follows the readings, moderated by the director, where the audience members and actors discuss the play with the playwright.

This season we will be combining all four readings into a weekend of local plays, the 2025 Outcry Reads Festival.​

  • Auditions will be cold reads of monologues provided by Outcry
  • All actors will be provided a $25 stipend for each show.
  • Video submissions will accepted from March 30 - April 30.
  • If you wish to submit a video audition please email [email protected] an unlisted YouTube link.
  • Each play only has one 4 hour rehearsal.
  • Each play will have one performance and a talkback with the cast and playwright.
