CINDY STECKLINE JOHNSTONMUSIC DIRECTOR
A long time music educator, Cindy retired from McKinney ISD after 23 years of service, teaching at Valley Creek Elementary and opening Evans Middle School. She finished her public education career at McKinney High School as Director of Choirs. Under her direction, the Evans Varsity Treble Chorus was a 2009 featured Honor Choir at Texas Music Educators Association Convention. She was cast in several shows with McKinney Summer Musicals, her last as Narrator in Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat. Cindy directed many musicals at all 3 MISD campuses as well as summer camps through McKinney Repertory Theatre where she directed and produced 13 summer shows. A highlight of her career was music directing the McKinney High School production of The Phantom of the Opera, receiving nominations through DSM High School Musical Theatre Awards for Best Music Direction and Best Musical Chorus/Ensemble. For Cindy, retirement has not been slow. She is involved in vocal coaching area students and launched a local community chorus, Sostenuto.
